Helldivers 2 Connection Issues Today | Issue Resolved

As of Wednesday, September 17, 2025, there are user reports of ongoing connection issues with Helldivers 2, including being sent back to the ship due to a lost network connection, and general difficulty joining games.

This appears to be a broader outage affecting cloud providers, not just Helldivers 2.

The developers at Arrowhead Game Studios are aware of ongoing technical issues, including connection problems, and are actively working on them. They often post updates on their official social media channels, such as their Twitter account and Discord server, to inform players of server status and planned maintenance.

How to check the official status:

  • Official Helldivers 2 Social Media:

    • The most reliable source for real-time updates is the official social media. Check their Twitter and Discord for announcements from the developers.
  • Downdetector:

    • This website provides a real-time overview of user-reported outages for various online services, including games.
  • Helldivers Subreddits:

    • The community subreddits like r/Helldivers are often the first place players report issues. You can see if a widespread problem is occurring by checking for similar posts.

🔧 What You Can Try to Fix It (If You’re Affected)

  1. Check Server Status

    • Twitter/X or the official Helldivers 2 Discord → see if there are announcements of maintenance or issues.

    • Also check your platform status (PSN for PlayStation, etc.) — sometimes if PSN is down or degraded, it affects connectivity.

  2. Restart Everything

    • Game

    • Console or PC

    • Router / modem

  3. Disable Crossplay

    • Some players found that toggling off crossplay helps with connection stability.

  4. Verify Game Files / Reinstall GameGuard / Cache (PC)

    • On Steam: right click → Properties → Local Files → Verify integrity.

    • Delete or reset local cache if there is a corrupt file.

  5. Network Tweaks

    • Disable IPv6 (sometimes causes weird connectivity problems).

    • If using ethernet / LAN, try switching to WiFi (or vice versa) to see if the route makes a difference.

  6. Wait It Out / Try Off‑Peak Times

    • If the server is at capacity, sometimes waiting 10‑30 min helps. Or try playing when fewer people are online.

Servers sometimes show “capacity reached” messages. If too many people are logged in, new login requests may be rejected until space opens up.
