Many HAP Medicare Advantage plans hap.nationsbenefits.com include an over-the-counter benefit, also known as OTC. This benefit lets you purchase over-the-counter items you may need using an allowance.

HAP (Health Alliance Plan) offers Medicare plans and provides an Over‑The‑Counter (OTC) / Flex Card benefit, handled via NationsBenefits.
The site hap.nationsbenefits.com is used by HAP members to log in, activate their OTC card, and order eligible OTC products.
To activate your card, you’ll need your 16‑digit card number, expiration date, your member ID, date of birth, and name.
Once activated, you can use the Benefits Pro portal (NationsBenefits’ platform) to manage the OTC card, check balance, shop, etc.

Here are the steps you can try:
Go to the login page
Visit
hap.nationsbenefits.com— it should redirect you to the NationsBenefits portal for HAP OTC.
Activate your card (if not already done)
If you just received the OTC / flex card, you need to activate it. Usually via a link like
hap.nationsbenefits.com/Activateor via the “Activate Card” button on the portal.
Enter credentials
To log in, you’ll need things like:
The 16‑digit OTC / Benefits Mastercard number
Expiry date
Member ID (often 12 characters with letters & numbers)
Your date of birth and last name
Use Benefits Pro portal
After login, you’ll be able to access the OTC catalog, check your balance, place orders, etc.
Contact support if needed
If the login page doesn’t load or credentials fail:
Try clearing browser cache, or using another browser/device
Use incognito / private mode
Reach out to NationsBenefits or HAP Medicare support
Check the back of your benefits card for a support number (often printed)

How to order OTC items @ hap.nationsbenefits.com
Ordering is quick, easy and convenient. We offer three ways for our members to order over-the-counter products: online, by phone or by mail. No matter which way you order, your items will be shipped directly to your door.

Once you receive and activate your card, you can start using it online through the MyBenefits portal and the MyBenefits app and/or in person at a participating retail location near you. When at a retail location, simply swipe your card for payment
1. Log in to your personalized MyBenefits portal at hap.nationsbenefits.com or call 877-484-7977 (TTY: 711)
2. Enter the 16 digit card number and expiration date of your Benefits Mastercard® Prepaid Card.
3. Your 12-digit member ID contains 2 letters and 10 numbers.
4. Enter your Date of Birth and Last Name provided to your health plan during enrollment.
5. Click on Activate Card Button to activate your card.

Common questions about the over-the-counter benefit
I’ve called and tried to order items, but they seem to be on backorder – do you know when they’ll be back in stock?
COVID-19 has created shortages on many popular items. We’re working closely with our OTC vendor and they’ve advised us that calling or viewing the catalog online will give you the most up to date items.
How long will it take to get my order?
We are pleased to offer 2 day shipping on most items.
Can I pay for extra items if I use my full dollar amount?
If you would like to order items that are above your benefit amount you may use a credit card on the online catalogs for Medicare Advantage members or HAP Medicare Complete Duals (HMO DSNP) members. You may order as frequently as you like.
Can I purchase items for family members and friends?
No. OTC products are intended for member use only to help with a health or medical need.
Do you accept returns?
No. Due to the personal nature of these products, returns are not accepted.
