To join a Gimkit game, Open a browser on your device and go to: gimkit.com/join. You’ll be prompted to enter a game code. This code is usually provided by your teacher or the person hosting the game.
The game code, which is a unique identifier consisting of a 5-6 digit or alphanumeric string, is automatically generated by the game host (the teacher) when a new live session begins. This code is session-specific and expires once the game is over, ensuring that a student joins the correct, active session.
After entering the code, the student is prompted to provide their name or a nickname before entering the game’s lobby. For added student safety and to prevent the use of inappropriate names, teachers have the option to enable a “Nickname Generator,” which automatically assigns a safe, random name to each student.
