Giovanni’s Current Team Composition:

1. Persian (Opening Pokémon):

   • Type: Normal​

   • Recommended Counters: Fighting-type Pokémon such as Lucario, Machamp, or Conkeldurr.

2. Second Pokémon (Variable):

   • Giovanni’s second Pokémon can be one of the following:

     • Kingdra:

       • Type: Water/Dragon

       • Weaknesses: Dragon and Fairy-type moves.

       • Recommended Counters: Fairy-types like Gardevoir or Dragon-types like Salamence.

     • Nidoking:

       • Type: Ground/Poison

       • Weaknesses: Ground, Ice, and Water-type moves.

       • Recommended Counters: Water-types like Kyogre or Ice-types like Mamoswine.

     • Rhyperior:

       • Type: Ground/Rock

       • Weaknesses: Water, Ice, and Ground-type moves.

3. Shadow Palkia (Closing Pokémon):

How to Encounter Giovanni:

To face Giovanni, players must complete the “Fashion Week: Taken Over” Special Research quest, introduced in mid-January 2025. This quest requires defeating Team GO Rocket Leaders (Cliff, Sierra, and Arlo) and Grunts. Upon completion, you’ll receive a Super Rocket Radar, which can be used to locate Giovanni at PokéStops or in Team GO Rocket balloons. ​
