Northwell Health, formerly the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System, was founded in 1997 and now operates 21 hospitals across the country. Apart from providing the greatest healthcare services, this non-profit organisation prioritises its employees. NSLIJ ESS, an online employee support system, helps Northwell’s employees, associates, and patients.

A universal ID and password are required to access the portal. By visiting to the login page for the category of users to which you belong and entering your login credentials, you will have access to everything you need.

Before using myRemoteAccess for the first time, please ensure you have set up your One Time Password preferences.

1) Ensure you are NOT on the Northwell Health secure network.

2) Type the following URL into the browser: https://vportal.northwell.edu/

Log-in with your Universal ID and Password.

Follow prompts as required.

3) You will pass directly to the Northwell myWebLinks/myApps page.

“How do I” log in to mySelfService (Employee Self Service –ESS)

What is mySelfService?

Employee Self Service (ESS) is Northwell’s secure and user-friendly tool that gives employees online access to their personal information such as:

• Biographical Information

• Pay Statements

• Direct Deposit

• Tax Information

• Benefit Elections

• Kronos MyTime

How to Log into mySelfService?

• UniversalID/Username

o E-mailed to new hires prior to start date.

• Password (Case Sensitive)

o The default password for logging into mySelfService for the first time will be “Nh” followed by 2 digits for your birth month, 2 digits for your birth date and last 4 digits of your social security number. (ex: NhMMDDXXXX)

• Employee Self Service (ESS) Key (Case Sensitive)

o Your ESS key will be “ns” followed by the last 4 digits of your social security number. (ex: nsXXXX)

1. Log into Employee Self Service (ESS)

2. Click on “myPay”

3. Click on “View/Update Direct Deposit Info”

4. Click on “Add Account”

5. Enter Routing and Account Number

6. Choose Account Type

7. Choose Deposit Type

8. Authorize Electronic Signature

What is the HRA?

The Health Risk Assessment (HRA) is one of your four Wellness Pledges to offset the cost of Medical Insurance. This is for anyone who takes Northwell’s medical plan.

How often do I need to complete the HRA?

As a new hire you will have 6 months to complete your HRA and other wellness pledges in order to continue to receive your Wellness Credits for the remainder of the year.
