Error Code BEE in Destiny 2 Fix

Error Code: BEE is a connection error in Destiny 2. Unlike server-side crashes, this error specifically means your connection to the game is “flaky” or experiencing packet loss.

The server is receiving your data in incomplete chunks, so it disconnects you to maintain stability for other players.

Here is the checklist to fix it, ranked by what works best.

1. The “Bandwidth Hog” Check (Most Common Cause)

“Bee” often happens because something else on your network is eating up your bandwidth, causing packet loss.

  • Check other devices: Is someone streaming 4K Netflix, downloading a large game update, or uploading a backup?

  • Background Downloads: Check your own PC/Console to see if Steam, Xbox, or Windows is secretly downloading an update in the background. Pause all other downloads while playing.

2. Switch to Wired (Or Reset Wi-Fi)

Wi-Fi signal drops are the #1 trigger for this code.

  • The Fix: Connect an Ethernet cable directly from your router to your gaming device. This almost always solves “Bee” instantly.

  • If you must use Wi-Fi: You are likely too far from the router or facing interference (walls/microwaves). Move closer or switch your router to the 5GHz band (which is faster and less crowded than 2.4GHz).

3. Power Cycle Your Network

Your router’s temporary memory (cache) might be full of errors.

  1. Turn off your PC/Console.

  2. Unplug your router from the wall power.

  3. Wait 60 seconds.

  4. Plug it back in and wait for the internet lights to stabilize.

4. Adjust “Packet Loss” Settings

If the above don’t work, your ISP routing might be inefficient.

  • Change DNS:

    • Go to your Network Settings on your device.

    • Set DNS to Manual.

    • Primary: 8.8.8.8 (Google)

    • Secondary: 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare)

  • Enable UPnP:

    • Log into your router settings (usually 192.168.1.1) and ensure UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) is turned ON. This allows Destiny 2 to open the ports it needs automatically.

Summary:

“Bee” is almost always on your end (specifically packet loss), not a total server outage. Using a cable (Ethernet) is the only guaranteed long-term fix.
