The Error 27 message specifically indicates a network timeout or a failure to establish a connection with the UIDAI (Aadhaar) Central Identities Data Repository.
Since today, March 11, 2026, has been marked by significant global internet instability and Meta outages, the Aadhaar servers are also experiencing intermittent connectivity issues.
Current Status (March 11, 2026)
Widespread Outage: Multiple reports indicate that UIDAI backend services are currently “UP” but are suffering from high latency. This means the server is technically running, but it is taking too long to respond, causing your device to “time out” and trigger Error 27.
Authentication Impact: This is primarily affecting e-KYC services and OTP-based authentications.
How to Fix Error 27
Because this is a server-side communication issue, the problem is likely not with your Aadhaar data itself, but with the “bridge” to the server.
Wait and Retry (The “10-Minute Rule”):
During peak hours (10 AM – 2 PM), the servers often throttle requests. Trying again after 15–20 minutes usually bypasses the temporary congestion.
Switch Networks:
If you are using Wi-Fi, switch to mobile data (4G/5G). Local ISP routing issues can sometimes block the specific ports used by Aadhaar’s secure handshake.
Check Your System Date/Time:
UIDAI servers are extremely strict about time synchronization. If your device’s clock is off by even a minute, the security certificate will fail, resulting in a connection error. Ensure your settings are on “Set Time Automatically.”
Clear App/Browser Cache:
mAadhaar App: Clear the app cache in your phone settings.
Web Portal: Use an Incognito/Private window to ensure old cookies aren’t forcing a connection to a stalled server node.
