If you’re trying to activate a new DStv Stream subscription, you’ll typically receive a code via SMS after subscribing. You’ll need to enter this code on the DStv Stream app to link your account and start streaming.

If you’re trying to link the DStv Stream app to your smart TV, a code might be displayed on your TV screen during the setup process. You’ll then need to enter this code on the DStv Stream app on your phone or computer to complete the linking.

How to Activate DSTV

1. Check Your Smart Card or IUC Number:

• • Make sure you have your DStv smart card or IUC number handy. You’ll need this information during the activation process.

2. Note Down the Decoder Serial Number:

• • Locate the serial number of your DStv decoder. It’s usually printed on a sticker at the back or bottom of the decoder.

3. Power On Your DStv Decoder:

• • Switch on your DStv decoder. Ensure it’s connected to your TV and properly set up.

4. Scan for Channels:

• • Use your remote control to scan for channels. This process ensures that your decoder detects all available channels.

5. Channel 100 Verification:

• • After scanning, check if channel 100 (usually DStv’s information channel) is working. If it is, your decoder is ready for activation.

6. Contact DStv Customer Care:

• • Call the DStv customer care number specific to your country.
  • Provide them with the following details:
    • Your full name
    • Your location or address
    • Mobile phone number associated with the decoder
    • Email address
    • Smart Card or IUC number
    • Serial number of the DStv decoder.

7. Activation Process:

• • The customer care representative will guide you through the activation process.
  • Once activated, your DStv decoder will be ready to access all the channels and services.

Setup Pairing

Setup Pairing screen is used for pairing Smart Cards with Decoders. In the system, if single STB exists for a customer, then the pairing can be done implicitly. But for more than one STB, the smart cards and decoders are paired explicitly.

Through this screen an existing pairing can also be modified or cancelled.

To pair smart cards with decoders:

1. On the Provisioning module, click Setup Pairing.
2. Retrieve details of the customer. The details like Customer Name, available smart card and decoder details appear in Pairing Details table.
3. To do a pairing, click the Add link in Pairing Details table.
4. Select the type of smart card from SmartCard Code drop down. All the available smart card numbers of the specific type appear in SmartCard No. drop down. Select the required number to be paired with decoder.
5. Select the type of decoder from Decoder Code drop down. All the available decoder numbers of the specific type appear in Decoder No. drop down. Select the required number to be paired with the selected smart card.
6. Click the Save button to pair the selected smart card with the decoder.
7. To cancel any existing pairing, select the check box against the pair and click the Update link. Finally click the Save button to remove the pairing details.
8. To modify an existing paring, click the Edit (pencil) symbol against a pairing. The paring details appear in edit mode. Modify the details and click the Save button to apply the modification.
