The Diablo 4 Error Code 316 719 is a “Connection Lost” error. It means the server has disconnected you on the backend, but your game client hasn’t fully realized it yet.
Status:
The Diablo 4 servers are Technically Online, but they are currently unstable for many players following the January 6th Hotfix.
What Error 316719 Means
This is a “Connection Lost” error. It means the server has disconnected you on the backend, but your game client hasn’t fully realized it yet.
The Bad News: You cannot “reconnect” from the error screen.
The Reality: Even if you click “Accept,” you will often get stuck in a loop if you try to log in immediately without restarting.
How to Fix It
Since this is a server-side stability issue (Blizzard’s fault, not yours), there is no permanent “fix,” but here is how to get back in:
Do Not Just Click “Accept”: If you get the error and just click “Accept” to go back to the character select screen, you will likely get Error 300008 or 316719 again immediately.
Close the Game Completely: You must fully exit to the desktop (Alt+F4 on PC or “Quit Game” on console). This forces your client to drop the “zombie” connection session.
Relaunch and Re-queue: Restart the game. You will have to wait in the queue again, but this is the only way to generate a fresh handshake with the server.

Prevention Tips (While Servers are Unstable)
Disable Cross-Network Play:
Go to the Character Select Screen.
Click Options (Game Menu) > Connect.
Turn Cross-Network Play to Disabled.
Why: This separates you from the wider pool of players and often reduces the random disconnects during peak times.
Avoid “Town Portaling” too Fast:
Current user reports suggest that porting to town immediately after a heavy event (like a World Boss or Legion Event) triggers the crash. Wait 10–15 seconds before teleporting.
Summary:
The servers are having hiccups. If you see 316719, force quit the app and restart. Don’t fight the menu.
