The “Internal Server Error” (often Error 500) on DKB (Deutsche Kreditbank) is a common issue that usually indicates a problem on their end, not your phone or computer.
As of Wednesday morning, February 4, 2026 (Central European Time), users are reporting intermittent login failures. Since it is currently peak business hours in Germany (~11:00 AM), this is likely a server overload rather than scheduled maintenance.
Here is how to work around it:
1. The “Browser” Workaround (Best Fix)
When the DKB App fails with an internal error, the web interface often still works because it uses a different gateway.
Open a browser on your phone or computer.
Go to
ib.dkb.de(this is the direct link to the banking portal).Log in there. If this works, the problem is strictly with the App’s connection to the server.
2. The App “Reset” (Android/iOS)
If the website works but the app is still broken, your app has likely cached a “bad” session token.
Update: Go to the App Store/Play Store. DKB is very strict about security; if you are even one version behind, they often block the connection with a generic “Server Error.”
Clear Cache (Android): Settings > Apps > DKB > Storage > Clear Cache.
Re-pair (iOS): If you are on an iPhone, you often have to delete and reinstall the app to force it to re-handshake with the server. Note: You will need your TAN2go or a second device to re-verify your identity.

3. Check “Tan2Go” vs. “New App”
DKB is currently migrating users between the old “Tan2Go” system and the new blue “DKB App.”
If you are trying to approve a payment and get this error, try opening the other app. (e.g., If you are initiating in the blue app, check if the Tan2Go app is asking for approval, or vice-versa).
4. Wait it out
If you see a white screen with “Internal Server Error” even on the website, the bank is experiencing a total outage. These usually last 30 to 60 minutes.
Do not change your password during this time. The error might make it look like a “wrong password,” but changing it while the server is unstable can lock your account entirely.
