Cleo App Not Working | Fix for “Waiting for Connection” or Login Loop

The Cleo money app is generally operational, but many users are currently experiencing specific issues with bank connections (Plaid) and login loops.

Crucial Warning: If you search for “Cleo Status” online, you will likely find a page saying “All Systems Operational” at status.cleo.com. Ignore this. That page is for a separate enterprise software company, not the personal finance app.

Here is the troubleshooting guide for the most common issues happening right now.


1. Fix for “Waiting for Connection” or Login Loop

If the app spins endlessly or says it can’t connect, this is often a “ghost” session issue where the app thinks you are logged in when you aren’t.

  • The “15-Minute” Fix:

    1. Force close the app completely.

    2. Turn off your Wi-Fi and switch to Cellular Data (or vice versa).

    3. Wait fully 15 minutes without opening the app. This clears the active session on their server.

    4. Open the app again.
