The maintenance break for Clash Royale today, March 19, 2026, is a critical update focused on finalizing the March “Hero Choice” Update and implementing significant balance changes.
While the game is under maintenance, battles are disabled, though your chest timers will continue to run.
What’s New?
The main focus of this break is the shift in how Heroes are handled:
Choose Your Hero: Starting mid-March, Heroes are no longer random. You can now use Hero Coins (formerly Hero Fragments) to unlock the specific Hero you want.
Free Hero: As part of this transition, check your shop after the maintenance! Most players are eligible to claim 200 Hero Coins, which is enough to unlock a Hero for free.
Deck Slot Rework: Special deck slots have been reduced from 4 to 3 to simplify gameplay. Your deck now consists of 1 Evo Slot, 1 Hero Slot, and 1 Wild Slot (which can hold either an extra Evo or Hero).
Major Balance Changes
Several cards have been adjusted in this “Final March Balance” patch:

Social Tab: A new Quickplay feature allows you to scan a friend’s QR code to jump instantly into a friendly battle.
