“CEO Kerala SIR 2002” refers to the Special Intensive Revision of the electoral rolls that was conducted in Kerala in 2002. Go to www.ceo.kerala.gov.in.
It is currently relevant because the Election Commission is conducting a new Special Intensive Revision (SIR 2025) ahead of the 2026 Assembly Elections. Voters are being asked to provide details from the old 2002 list to verify their historical residency, which is causing confusion for many.
Here is how to check your details and what to do if you can’t find them:
1. How to Find Your Name in the 2002 List
You can access the archived 2002 data on the official Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Kerala website.
-
Visit the Website: Go to www.ceo.kerala.gov.in.
-
Find the Link: Look for the “Electoral Roll – SIR 2002” link (usually under the “Voter’s Corner” or “Electoral Rolls” menu).
-
Search Details:
-
District: Select your district.
-
Constituency (LAC): Select your constituency as it existed in 2002. (Note: Boundaries changed after 2008; if you can’t find your area, check the neighboring constituency).
-
Name Search: You may need to enter the name in Malayalam. If the site requires Malayalam input and you cannot type it, use a transliteration tool (type in English, copy the Malayalam text).

2. Common Problems & Solutions
-
“I was under 18 in 2002”: You won’t be on the list. Instead, look for your parents’ names in the 2002 roll. Linking their data to yours helps establish your family’s residency.
-
“I can’t find my name anywhere”: If you or your family are not in the 2002 list, you can still vote. You will just need to provide standard ID proof (Aadhaar, Ration Card, Passport, etc.) to your Booth Level Officer (BLO) to verify your current status.
-
“My name is misspelled in the 2002 list”: This is fine. The goal is just to link the old record to the new one. You can correct current spelling errors using Form 8 later.
3. Important Deadlines (Current SIR 2025)
-
Enumeration Extension: The deadline for data collection has been extended to December 18, 2025.
-
Draft List: The new draft electoral roll is scheduled to be published on December 23, 2025.
