The P07 error on your Canon G3010 means that the Ink Absorber Pad is full. This is a built-in safety measure to prevent ink from leaking out of the printer after a certain number of prints or cleanings.
You can usually clear this error yourself by resetting the internal counter through Service Mode.
Here is the step-by-step process:
Step 1: Enter Service Mode
-
Turn off the printer, but leave it plugged in.
-
Press and hold the Power button.
-
While still holding the Power button, press the Stop button (the triangle in a circle) 5 times (some newer models may require 6 times).
-
Release both buttons. The green power light should flash for a moment and then stay solid green.
-
If the light is not solid green, turn it off and try again, ensuring the button sequence is steady.
-
Step 2: Reset the Counter
Once the green light is solid (you are now in Service Mode):
-
Press the Stop button 5 times.
-
Press the Power button 1 time.
-
The printer should process for a moment and then print a small page containing a string of numbers (usually starting with
D=000.0). This indicates the counter has been reset.
Step 3: Finalize
-
Turn off the printer using the Power button.
-
Turn it back on normally. The P07 error should be gone.

Important Maintenance Note
This reset only clears the digital counter; it does not physically clean the ink pads.
-
The Risk: If you reset the counter multiple times without ever cleaning or replacing the pads, ink may eventually leak out of the bottom of the printer.
-
The Fix: If you notice ink stains on your desk, it’s time to have a technician replace the physical felt pads inside.
