Call Limit Rocket League | Are Rocket League Servers Down

There were widespread reports of Rocket League servers being down earlier today (March 14, 2026), with thousands of players reporting login and matchmaking failures.

While the official Epic Games Status page currently shows “Operational,” the “Call Limit” error you are seeing is a direct symptom of the servers struggling to handle the volume of players trying to reconnect.

What is the “Call Limit Reached” Error?

The “Call Limit” error is basically a traffic jam notification. It occurs when the game client makes too many requests (calls) to the server in a short period, or when the server is so overloaded that it starts rejecting new requests to protect itself from crashing.

  • Server Overload: Usually happens right after a patch (v2.66 was recently released) or during a major outage.

  • Anti-Spam Filter: If you try to join a match or open a menu repeatedly while the game is lagging, the server “throttles” your account temporarily.

  • The “Tournament” Glitch: This error frequently appears when trying to join a Tournament while in a party.

How to Fix It

Since this is almost always a server-side issue, your best bet is to wait 5–10 minutes for the traffic to clear. However, you can try these steps to “reset” your connection:

  1. The Main Menu Wait: Stay on the main menu for 60 seconds without pressing any buttons. This allows the game to complete its “handshake” with the Epic Online Services.

  2. Restart the Game: Completely close the game and launcher (Steam or Epic). This clears the local “call” counter.

  3. Accept the EULA: Go to Settings > Extras > Legal Agreements. Sometimes scrolling through the EULA and ToS refreshes your server credentials.

  4. Sync System Clock: Ensure your PC or console’s time is set to “Automatic.” If your system time is even a minute off, the server might reject your “calls” as invalid.
