Fans have been buzzing about a specific “editing error” in Bridgerton Season 4, Part 1, which premiered on January 29, 2026. The most viral mistake involves a modern-day Band-Aid (or “plaster”) visible in Episode 1.
The “Band-Aid” Blunder
The Scene: During the masquerade ball at the beginning of the season, Lady Araminta (played by Katie Leung, the “wicked stepmother” character) is seen in a close-up.
The Error: A small, flesh-colored Band-Aid is clearly visible on her upper ear.
The Reason: It was likely used to cover up a modern cartilage piercing that the actress has, which would have been anachronistic for the 1813 Regency setting.
Fan Reaction: TikTok and Reddit have been flooded with screenshots of the error, with fans jokingly asking if “The Ton” recently invented adhesive bandages 100 years early (the Band-Aid wasn’t actually invented until 1920).

Other Notable Production Issues
While the Band-Aid is the most famous, “eagle-eyed” fans have pointed out a few other glitches in the first four episodes:
The “Floating” Carriage: Several scenes involving Benedict and Sophie in a carriage have been criticized for “obvious” green-screen work. Viewers noted that the background lighting doesn’t always match the interior of the carriage, making the actors look like they are floating against a digital backdrop.
The Vanishing Glove: In Episode 2, there is a minor continuity error involving Sophie’s silver glove. It appears and disappears between shots during her escape from the ball, leading to some “Cinderella” themed memes online.
Piercing Peek-a-boo: Some fans have also spotted Queen Charlotte and other background extras with visible tragus or cartilage piercings that weren’t edited out in post-production.
