To activate your Bank of America Commercial, Corporate, or Purchasing card via the Global Card Access portal, Navigate to bofa.com/globalcardaccess.
Follow the steps below.
Note: This portal (
bofa.com/globalcardaccess) is specifically for corporate/business cards. If you are trying to activate a personal credit card, you should use the standard Bank of America Personal Banking siteinstead.
Method 1: Activate Online (Global Card Access)
-
Go to the Portal: Navigate to bofa.com/globalcardaccess.
-
Start Registration: Click on the link that says “Register a card” (usually found on the login screen).
-
Enter Card Details:
-
Enter your 16-digit card number.
-
Enter the expiration date and security code (CVV).
-
-
Verify Your Identity: You will be asked to verify your identity using one of the following:
-
Verification ID: Provided by your company’s Program Administrator.
-
Employee ID: Your unique employee identification number.
-
Email: If your email is already on file, you can request a one-time passcode.
-
-
Create Credentials: Create your User ID and Password for the Global Card Access site.
-
Complete Activation: Follow the final prompts to activate the card. You may also be asked to create a PIN during this process.
Method 2: Activate via Mobile App
If you prefer using your phone, you can do this through the specific business app.
-
Download the BofA Global Card Access app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
-
Make sure you download “Global Card Access” and not the standard “Bank of America” personal banking app.
-
-
Open the app and select “Register a card”.
-
Follow the same verification steps as the website (enter card info, verify identity, create login).
Method 3: Activate by Phone
If you are having trouble with the online methods, you can activate using the automated phone system:
-
Call the number printed on the sticker on your card.
-
Or call the general activation line: 1-888-233-8855 (U.S.) or check the back of your card for the international collect number.
-
Have your Verification ID ready, as the automated system will likely ask for it.
Troubleshooting Tips
-
“Unable to Validate” Error: This usually means the information entered (like the Verification ID or Zip Code) does not match what your company filed. Contact your company’s Program Administrator to confirm your details.
