Aminata Diallo, PSG player, was detained after allegedly assaulting a teammate

Aminata Diallo, a midfielder for Paris Saint-squad, Germain’s women’s has been taken into jail by police following an assault on other players, the club announced Wednesday.

PSG released a statement saying that Diallo, 26, was arrested by Versailles police on Wednesday morning following the Thursday night attack.

In the clearest possible terms, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) expresses its disapproval of the violence committed. As of Thursday night, “the club has taken all essential procedures to ensure the safety of its entire women’s team.”

According to PSG, it has agreed to collaborate closely with the Versailles police in order to get to the bottom of the matter.

A statement from Paris St. Germain (PSG) read: “The club is following the events closely and will evaluate what measures to take.”

After a night out with Diallo and another unidentified player, rumours in French media stated that midfielder Kheira Hamraoui was assaulted.

Diallo was driving them back when several persons wearing masks attacked, and Hamraoui was hit multiple times with a metal rod and required stitches to her hands and legs, according to the broadcaster BFM TV.

Diallo started in midfield for Paris Saint-Germain in their 4-0 Champions League triumph over Real Madrid on Tuesday night.

On France’s national squad, Hamraoui and Diallo are teammates.

Barcelona knocked out PSG in the Champions League semifinals after Hamraoui rejoined PSG in the winter.

When Diallo arrived from Guingamp in 2012, Hamraoui was already a PSG player.
