The start of each new year brings with it a re-awakening of nature in Gatlinburg. Baby bears, cuddled with mama, begin to poke their little heads out of wintry dens. Likewise, spring wildflowers push up from their slumber welcoming warm weather back to the Smokies. We suggest you get outdoors and take advantage of the hiking trails in the National Park. Or, try browsing the original art on display at the Great Smoky Easter Arts and Crafts Show taking place at the end of March through early April. Get in touch with your creative side and take a class during ‘Hands on Gatlinburg’ in early May.

It’s fall, y’all. We think every season here is spectacular but there’s something extra special about autumn in Gatlinburg. Maybe it’s the changing colors, or the mountain chill in the air. Whatever it is, everyone should experience it at least once in their lifetime. Peak color changes happen from Mid-October to early November, while seasonal activities like Oktoberfest and the Gatlinburg Craftsmen’s Fair up the good times ante. For an extra spooktacular visit, check out Ripley’s Fright Nights and The Legend of Hallow Mountain at Anakeesta, both taking place throughout the month of October.
