AadhaarFaceRD Error Code | How to Fix

The “AadhaarFaceRD” app is notoriously confusing because it is not a normal app you can open. It is a background driver (like a printer driver) that only works when another app (like Jeevan Pramaan, PM Kisan, or Ration Card apps) calls for it.

Here is how to fix the specific error you are seeing.

How to Fix

Problem 1: “I can’t find/open the app”

If you are trying to click the app icon and it crashes or doesn’t open, this is normal.

  • The Reality: The app has no screen. It is invisible.

  • The Fix: Stop trying to open “AadhaarFaceRD.” Instead, open the government app you are actually trying to use (e.g., Jeevan Pramaan or Mera Ration). When that app asks for “Face Auth,” the RD service will wake up automatically.

Problem 2: “Capture Failed” or Error 700 / 810

This is the most common error. It means the camera couldn’t get a clean scan.

  • Lighting is Key: You need bright, even light on your face. Do not stand with a window/light behind you (backlit). The light must fall on your face.

  • Blink: The app requires you to blink your eyes to prove you are a real person. If you stare without blinking, it will fail (Error 700).

  • Clean the Lens: Wipe your front camera. A blurry lens causes immediate failure.

Problem 3: Error 720 / “Device Integrity Failed”

This error means the app thinks your phone is “unsafe” or hacked. This often happens if you have Developer Options turned on.

  • The Fix:

    1. Go to Settings > Additional Settings (or System).

    2. Find Developer Options.

    3. Turn it OFF completely.

    4. Restart your phone and try again.

Problem 4: Error 9708 / App Crashing in Background

If the scan starts but crashes immediately, your phone’s battery saver is killing the app.

  • The Fix:

    1. Go to Settings > Apps > Manage Apps.

    2. Find AadhaarFaceRD.

    3. Go to Battery Saver (or Battery Usage).

    4. Select “No Restrictions” (or “Unrestricted”).

    5. Also, go to Permissions and ensure Camera is set to “Allow only while using the app.”

Summary Checklist

  1. Uninstall the current AadhaarFaceRD app.

  2. Restart your phone.

  3. Reinstall “AadhaarFaceRD” from the Google Play Store (ensure it is the version by Unique Identification Authority of India).

  4. Open your main app (Jeevan Pramaan/Ration) and try the scan again in good light.
