Expedition 33 Thank You Update | What is in the Update?

The Thank You Update for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a major free content patch released on December 12, 2025. A completely new playable environment described as a “whimsical storybook adventure.

Developer Sandfall Interactive “shadow-dropped” this update immediately after the game won Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2025. It is designed as a gift to the community and includes significant new content for late-game players.

What is in the Update?

• New Region (“Verso’s Drafts”):

  • A completely new playable environment described as a “whimsical storybook adventure.” It features new enemies, puzzles, and lore tied to a young Verso.

• Endless Tower Expansion:

  • Adds “super-tuned” variants of the game’s major bosses. These are significantly harder than the base game and require precise parrying and strategy.

• Photo Mode:

  • A fully featured photo mode was added (a highly requested feature).

• New Gear:

  • New Outfits: Casual/Chic outfits for all characters.

  • New Weapons & Luminas: Includes 12 new weapons and 17 new Pictos.

• Technical Improvements:

  • Steam Deck Certified: Official verification and optimization for handhelds.

  • Lumina Loadouts: You can now save up to 50 different build loadouts.

  • FSR 4 Support: Added for better upscaling and frame generation.

How to Access the New Content

To reach the new Verso’s Drafts area, you must meet two requirements:

1. You must be in Act 3 of the main story.

2. You must have unlocked Esquie’s Diving Ability.

Location:

Go to the region Lumière. Look for a glowing spot in the water to the left of the twisted Eiffel Tower. Dive there to enter the new area.
