1-833-200-7521 | Amazon Fraud Scams Number

The phone number 1-833-200-7521 is associated with a scam. It has been reported that callers using this number claim to be from Amazon’s fraud department, stating that a purchase was declined and prompting the recipient to call back.

These calls are fraudulent and meant to deceive recipients into providing personal or financial information. It is advisable not to answer or return calls from this number. The 833 area code is a toll-free number used by many legitimate businesses, but scammers can also use such numbers for fraudulent purposes.

The 833 prefix indicates a toll-free number (like 800 or 888), which scammers frequently use because they are easy and inexpensive to set up and mask their true location.

🛑 How the Scam Works

This is a classic “Imposter Scam,” usually conducted via a robocall or automated voice message that creates a sense of panic:

  • The Hook: You receive a call claiming to be from the “Amazon Fraud Department” or “Security Team.”

  • The Lie: The message states there is a suspicious, high-value purchase charged to your account (e.g., an iPhone, a large gift card, or an international order).

  • The Demand: The message instructs you to “Press 1 to cancel the order” or “Call back the Amazon fraud department at 833-200-7521” to avoid the charge.

  • The Goal: If you call back, a live scammer will try to gain remote access to your computer (asking you to download software like AnyDesk or TeamViewer) or convince you to buy gift cards and send them the codes to “reverse” the charge.

🔒 What to Do if You Receive a Call

  • Do NOT Call Back: Do not engage with the number. The scammers are trying to confirm your number is active.

  • Hang Up Immediately: If you answer, hang up without giving any information.

  • Verify Independently: If you are genuinely concerned about a charge, do not trust the phone number provided by the suspicious caller. Log in to your official Amazon account or the official app to check your order history.

  • Amazon Policy: Remember that Amazon will NEVER ask you to:

    • Purchase gift cards.
    • Provide remote access to your computer.
    • Provide personal information like your password, OTPs, or Social Security number over the phone.
